For Shopify filter menu
• Try both layout filters: horizontal and vertical
The position of the left sidebar in the page is convenient for various filters (more than 8) which will increase over time. If you have 3-4 filters that stay the same all the time, the filters above have a better layout. If you have multiple Shopify filter options, try both layout filters. Make sure they don't overlap.
• Customize filters for each collection
Since customization can take a lot of time and effort, we offer standard Shopify filters with general options and add more specific options to specific collections. Select no more than 10 filters to be displayed. The complexity of categories creates confusion rather than helping consumers find the right product.
• Optimize for a mobile experience
The best practice for mobile-friendly filters is to use a sideband or a collapsible top band. Also, allow your customers to show or hide filter values to keep the Shopify filter tree from getting too long.
